How much does it cost to advertise on Google?
When advertising on Google, the cost of your campaigns really depends on you -- how much you're willing to pay and how well you know your audience. It all boils down to knowing your own goals and applying them to your account.
There is a nominal, one-time activation fee for advertising on Google. After that, you pay only for clicks on your keyword-targeted AdWords ads. You can control your costs by selecting how much you're willing to pay per click by setting a daily budget for spending in your account. This daily budget is set by you.
For example, a new advertiser paying in USD can activate their account with a daily budget of just US$5.00, and can then choose a maximum cost-per-click (CPC) from US$0.01 - US$100.
Unfortunately Google does not disclose how much each phrase and word costs to bid on.
However we use a special “keyword” bidding tool that gives us a ballpark idea of what you can expect to pay and once the account goes live we adjust those prices accordingly to ensure that you receive maximum exposure for the amount you wish to spend.
Daily budgets start as low as $1 up to whatever limit the advertiser is comfortable spending. Our advice is to start a campaign with a daily budget of $2/day and see how you go.
How much do I need to spend? What budget should I start out on?
Your budget is completely up to you how much you wish to spend. We have some clients who spend $1 a day and larger corporations will spend over $10,000 a day!
Because Google is a dynamic system you can set your own budget.
You are also free to change this amount whenever you wish. If you find that the words you’re bidding on are working for you, you can increase your daily budget at any time.
Your initial daily budget is set based on the amount you suggested or suggest in the signup form.
Google will never bill you for more than your daily budget amount.
However it is important to note that if there are more searches and possible clicks than what you have set for your daily budget, then your ad will not be able to be displayed all the time. In other words, if the demand for a particular phrase you are bidding on is higher than the supply in which you are prepared to spend on advertising, Google cannot show your ad every time. This is to ensure that you are never billed more than your daily budget.
However, again, it’s completely up to you. We will work with whatever budget you can assign for now.
We suggest a $1-$2 a day test, for small sites that are unsure of how much to spend, that works out to be about $30-$60/month to Google.
When and how does Drawn bill me?
Drawn bill every 30 days for the management of your Google AdWords account. Drawn package costs $24.95 per month. The first three months is paid in advance and is billed every 30 days thereafter.
This bill is separate to the cost of the clicks you incur with Google and will appear on your credit card as a separate bill.
When and how does Google bill me?
Once an account manager has set your account up, Google will only charge you for the clicks you've actually received. You're not billed in advance by Google. Google will bill you after 30 days, or when your reach your credit limit, whichever comes first.
What’s the difference between the Drawn bill and the Google inc. bill?
The main difference between our bill and Google’s is that our service fee is fixed and is only $59/month. The Drawn fee is for the creation, management and support of your account while the Google Inc. fee that will appear on your credit card is purely for the cost of the clicks – nothing else. The Drawn fee will appear as Deb's Webs on your credit card statement while the Google fee will appear as Google inc.
Deb’s Webs operates independently as Google AdWords advertisers, and are not employed, endorsed, approved by or agents of Google. 'Google' is a trademark of Google, Inc. |
